Okay so I know January is usually a crappy month. But does anyone have any ideas on how to get clients in. I’m new at my salon and building from scratch. I’ve tried posting EVERYWHERE on Facebook but so far no luck. I am also doing commission so I’m not to sure about trying to post about discounts just yet.

Many professionals are creating New Year Resolutions and looking at their current work wondering how or where to grow, transition, and more. There is more to professional growth and continuing education than “another cutting class”. Consider what other hobbies or interests you have. Do you want to do more photography? How can you dive deeper into that skill and allow it to help elevate you as a professional in your business? Maybe you could take on some social media pics! Maybe the website could use a refresh? Maybe you could be the resident photog for events! Are you interested in sharing holistic tea remedies with your clients? How about creating personalized gifts in a mini boutique for special occasions? There are lots of ways to integrate the things that you love into your business!!

So I’m new to my salon doing commission and just graduated in October so I’m just buying color and toners as I go. I had both my colors cancel for this week and got the color and toner specifically for their hair. What are thoughts or opinions on charging a deposit on any type of color service???
